Amsterdam Day 6
EARLY wake-up call at 5:30 am. All travelers were able to catch the Heathrow Express to KLM terminal 3.
Unexpectedly, we had to put all liquids from our luggage into ONE small ziplock bag to go through security. What a pain. We had ample time to spare to go to our last Pret a Manger and stock up on food for the trip to Amsterdam. We easily found our seats on a smaller airplane.
. It was a short 1 hour flight, where we slept. We arrived safely, and as we were watching how to exit the terminal, I saw a meditation centre,
yes we are now in Amsterdam!
Look closely and you can see us!
We jumped into a taxi van and made it to our hostel in Central Amsterdam.
We walked around before our bike ride with huge smiles.
Dinner was at the Hard Rock Cafe.
Pictures have not come in.
I was riding around the city face-timing my son,
trying to get in to a sold out show at the Paradiso to see Bad Religion!
I was only able to get in the lobby to pose for a selfie with the t-shirts...I GOT IN though!
Note: A new experience occurred to me on this trip, when I was craving Mexican food. I rode my rented bike around town desperately looking for authentic food. i rode to three Mexican restaurants, I spied the food at all of them, (it was not Mexican, but more like 7-11 tostito nachos with fake quac)... and gross frozen meatballs that they called albondigas!
We need to bring Hollywood's famous El Capitan, El Coyote or Pasadena's Margarita's to Amsterdam!!!
I ended up buying avocado juice for a dinner.
(I should have gone with them to Hard Rock!!, but then they told me that they had to wait 1 hour for their table, and the food was disgusting...I have yet to have good food in Amsterdam besides PANCAKES!
I have not asked about their evening,,,,but I watched their whereabouts with Life360. They were all home by midnight!
A bit rocky first day in Amsterdam, but they made it through!
